DotComs & Ferals
- How do you go about gaining and keeping
the attention of DotComs and Ferals ?
- How do we teach students who have a
need to multichannel ?
- Setting up behaviour management
strategies for kids with no boundaries ?
- What would a supportive environment for
these kids look and feel like ?
- The whole question of relevancy, how do
we meet their needs ?

IN OUR INFORMATION / TECHNOLOGY SATURATED ENVIRONMENT
REQUIREMENTS for TEACHING
from Net discussion with Michael Gurstein, Canada
Not to replace our basic set of skills ( 3R's)
but to
add a set of complex / conceptual skills
| |
We must also know how to
manage
construct
deconstruct
information and knowledge at a CONCEPTUAL level
|
So we can
make sense
of what we are doing
with ITs
| |
So we can control ITs
and how they
structure our relationship
with others and with the
physical world.
|
Young are developing such skills
spontaneously and
intuitively.
| |
We need to catch up
or get out of their way
or help them systematize
what they sense.
